Dayalan Kulendran, sometimes known by his highly original superhero alias of DJ DeeKay (no cape) is a freelance journalist and DJ, and (cheap-plug time) co-presents a show on Roundhouse Radio called Fresh Cuts, where they do alot. On a weekly basis. Playing the best upfront "urban" music. Really early. With massive interviews and live sessions. It's relatively remarkable.
He also helps to run Roundhouse Radio alongside station manager Kate, and has recently programmed and launched the station's "Urban" night (Saturdays), which features the hottest up-and-coming specialist DJs playing great new music.
As well as all that, he edits the Roundhouse's Redtop magazine, which (cheap-plug number two) is London's hottest new free magazine, written by young journalists all under the age of 26. Issue Two of Redtop is due in February and you can pick it up in various hotspots of coolness, including the Roundhouse.
Finally, Dayalan runs a blog (DJ DeeKay Presents) where he writes about great music mainly, but occasionally about TV shows and films that he loves (like The Wire and Slumdog Millionaire). You might stumble across a few cheap plugs and some shameless name-dropping when you check it out (please?). Sorry, he just can't help himself!
He also made the mistake of writing this bio entirely in first-person, only to realise that the rest of the stunning character references on the Roundhouse website were in third-person, so hastily edited his offering to fall in line. He hopes you noticed.
